The Oh So Natural Herbal Weight Loss Supplement

There is most likely going to be a diet pill advertised just for you, whether you need to lose five pounds or fifty pounds. There is both good and bad press being thrown before the public about the praises and curses of these different weight loss aids. Some people decry their effectiveness by calling the companies behind the wonder pill a charlatan and other swear by them. Sometimes the diet pills work, and sometimes they do not.

Partially because of the new craze for organic living and also because of the positive results that they bring, herbal weight loss supplements are very popular. You may be wondering which herbal weight loss supplements are the real Mc Coys and which are simply wolves in herbal clothing, with so many on the scene. You may have to examine the ingredients list a little more closely than before.

The Pros And Cons

This is a good thing to do anyway, as you should not assume that any herbal weight loss supplement will be safe for your body simply because it is herbal. You may want to check with your doctor to make sure you should even try an herbal weight loss supplement, and to see if they can provide you with any weight loss tips and advice. For anyone not already taking a daily prescribed medication most of the herbal products should be fairly safe.

There are going to be some negative points to herbal weight loss supplements; the main one being that there is not any way to really control what goes into these products and what is shown on the label. The Federal Drug Administration (FDA) does not endorse herbal weight loss supplements for this reason. Some of the herbs used can have different effects on different people. Your neighbor has palpitations and breaks out in a weird rash, while you might be fine with it.

The positive side to herbal weight loss supplement products is their benefit to your diet. You do not have to worry about overloading your system with too much caffeine or any other foreign chemicals, when taking these natural fat burners and appetite suppressors. Many popular food diets tend to strip the menu of necessary nutrients; these herbal remedies can put them back in to keep the body from losing what it needs to function properly. You may not realize how many vitamins and minerals can be helpful in your strive to lose weight and get healthier.

Herbal weight loss supplements are very popular, partially because of the new craze for organic living and also because of the positive results that they bring...View more articles at www.weightloss.jsgenterprises.com.

Boost Your Immune System With Natural Supplements

The immune system is the ultimate bodyguard that can prevent illnesses before it even takes hold in the body when it is properly taken care of.  Immune impairment has become a major concern within recent decades among health professionals.  The strength of the immune system directly influences the quality of health.  However, it is often something that we take for granted.  There are a lot of things that can interfere with proper immune function, including diet, stress, and level of activity.  It is within our ability to create a health immune system for ourselves.

If we do something that makes us a little bit healthier, we will experience less disease and suffering.  Each of us individually must do what is necessary to protect ourselves from common health threats that can occur if the immune system is compromised like heart disease, arthritis, fibromyalgia, gastrointestinal problems, AIDS, cancer, and many other illnesses.  We will be able to avoid disease and the suffering it causes if we do what is necessary to keep our immune system healthy and balanced.

In order to understand how to fight against health problems in the best way, it is necessary to first understand the basics of how the immune system functions.  The smallest components of the immune system are biomolecules, which are also called immune factors or immuno-regulatory molecules.  The immune system fights against the potential health dangers by identifying and then eliminating dangerous and unfamiliar particles, which include bacteria and viruses.  The immune system can very selectively discriminate between self and non-self, a trait that is extremely unique.  It then destroys the foreign antigens and leaves itself alone.

Biomolecules called cytokines work to regulate and simulate the body’s defense system.  Cytokines help to fight against foreign molecules, also called pathogens, by inducing the production of antibodies.  These antibodies work to neutralize antigens and create immunity to them.  Additionally, a functioning immune system remembers the foreign antigens that it has encountered before so that it can prevent or quickly defeat secondary attacks by the same pathogen.

There are many immunity agents that are found in the body.  An antibody is a molecule of the immune system that is secreted into the blood and helps to fight against antigens like bacteria and parasites to help create immunity,  Antigen are substances that stimulate the production of an antibody when it is introduced into the body.  Antigens include toxins, bacteria, foreign blood cells, and the cells that are found in transplanted organs.  Colostrum, antibody-rich milk, is produced by a mother during the first week of her child’s life.  Cytokines consist of any of several regulatory molecules that are released by cells of the immune system and acts as a mediator in the generation of an immune response.  Cytokines assist in the regulating and controlling of the immune system.

Interleukin is a type of cytokine which encourages the growth of immune cells.  There are many types of interleukins, with three of the most common stimulating the inflammatory response, the growth of blood stem cells, and the production of helper T cells.  Pathogens are agents that cause disease, while tumor necrosis factor is a type of cytokine that has anti-tumor properties.  It affects blood vessels, therefore, regulating both inflammation and killing tumors.  Lastly, white blood cells help to protect the body from infection and disease.

Keeping the immune system in tip top shape is very important.  There are a variety of natural substances such as immune boost herbs that can help the immune system function at optimal levels.  Natural supplements are available at your local or internet health food store.

Anti Aging Vitamin D - Shocking New Studies

Chances are, by now you've heard SOMETHING about the anti aging benefits of Vitamin D. The miraculous vitamin has been in the news quite a bit recently - particularly Vitamin D3.

If you haven't heard about the benefits of Vitamin D, here is a brief list:

  • inhibits inflammation (major cause of aging)
  • maintains calcium balance
  • helps to regulate blood pressure
  • boosts your immunity
  • protects against some cancers (mainly colon)

There are lots of other research studies being done with additional benefits discovered all the time.

But here is some controversial news about Vitamin D you may NOT know:

Fact: Your body produces Vitamin D naturally with sun exposure.

What you don't know:

  • Wearing sunscreen inhibits Vitamin D production.
  • You may be deficient in Vitamin if you are dark skinned or tan because its absorption is inhibited with too much melalin.
  • Vitamin D deficiency can occur if you are over 40 because production of Vitamin D from the sun slows down as we age.
  • Heavy people will need more Vitamin D than thin people.

Fact: Most sunscreens actually block the rays that produce Vitamin D. Amazingly, the occurance of cancer has increased since the use of sunscreen has increased!

What You Don't Know: It turns out that since Vitamin D3 protects against some cancers, by inhibiting the sunshine from sunscreen, we are actually increasing our cancer rate.

The American Dermatology Association is outraged to think anyone suggests that people go out in the sun without sunscreen.

Fact: The government recommends 400 units of Vitamin D per day

What You Don't Know: Most research indicates that 4,000 units per day is needed.

Vitamin D poisioning can occur if you take too much, but the incidences are actually pretty rare. Get tested first to see if you are deficient.

Important questions to ask yourself:

Am I deficient in Vitamin D?

Where do I get tested?

Before I buy Vitamin D, what should I consider?

There are many easy ways to make anti aging a part of your life.

To answer the questions you have about this important vitamin, go to Anti Aging Vitamin D

Essential Fatty Acids Can Help One fight Of Disease

Many recent studies have found that Essential fats may be extremely helpful for many chronic, stubborn conditions.  Their continuously growing range of applications includes overcoming diseases such as alcoholism, breast cancer, and cardiovascular disease; strengthening the immune system; helping eliminate yeast infection; reducing symptoms of premenstrual syndrome; minimizing inflammation of rheumatoid arthritis; and assisting in the proper management of weight.

Alcohol dependence is an extremely serious condition that often results in decreased life expectancy, suicide, degeneration of the brain and liver, osteoporosis, and many other conditions.  For each person, the rate at which alcohol is metabolized in the body is different, as a lot of it has to do with the person's nutritional status, the concentration and activity of liver enzymes, and the rate at which alcohol is consumed.

Alcoholics tend not to eat because the calories from alcohol, although nutrient-poor, diminish the appetite, causing many alcoholics to become extremely malnourished.  An overall nutritional program should be employed to those people who are dependant on alcohol, which should include vitamins A, C, and B, complex, along with zinc, magnesium, selenium, amino acids, milk thistle, acidophilus, antioxidants, L-carnitine, and essential fatty acids.  EFAs, especially those that are high in GLA, keep blood lipid levels from going out of control.

The body's immune system has a vital role in protecting us against cancer, as it recognizes and annihilates any abnormal cells before they have the chance to multiply and do damage.  When the immune system is overwhelmed or not functioning properly, abnormal cells will reproduce without having anything to stop them.  Because of the rapidly growing tumors which have a huge appetite for nutrition to keep them going, cancer patients often become malnourished and lose weight.  A diet that is rich in cruciferous vegetables, fiber, antioxidants, vitamins A, C, and E, minerals, and essential fatty acids can help prevent breast cancer.  Research shows that EFAs, especially GLA, have anti-tumor properties.

All of the cells in the body have a dependence on nutrients that are transported through the circulatory network.  When blood vessels become clogged with fats and cholesterol, nutrition distribution is hindered and blood flow can be stopped in some areas, causing the heart to die.  Exercise is a good for increasing circulation and keeping the blood from getting stuck.  A diet that is high fruits, vegetables, natural fiber, and low in saturated fats, meats, and homogenized dairy products is also a good idea.  Additionally, antioxidants, hawthorn berry, ginkgo biloba, vitamin E, Co Q-10, L-carnitine, calcium, magnesium, potassium, and EFAs will also be of benefit to the cardiovascular system.

Essential fatty acids have been shown to stop the growth of yeast organisms in the body.  They do so by helping the oxygen to flow to cells.  Since yeast is anaerobic, it cannot thrive in the presence of oxygen.  Yeast overgrowth can cause a variety of symptoms that are often diagnosed as another condition, ranging from joint swelling to memory loss.

PMS is a collection of symptoms that occurs one to two weeks before menstruation, affects about one-third of women who are younger than forty.  It is caused by hormone imbalances, which result in anxiety, irritability, and mental sluggishness.  Research has found that women with PMS usually eat more refined carbohydrates, dairy products, and sodium, and less iron and other minerals than those women who do not experience this condition.  Vitamin B complex, beta carotene, vitamin E, magnesium, milk thistle, acidophilus, and essential fatty acids are very helpful for PMS.  Essential fatty acids, especially GLA, are helpful in balancing the body's hormone levels.

Reducing symptoms of disease like arthritis or PMS is important to all those who suffer from them.  EFA's can help reduce the symptoms of these diseases.  American diets are low in EFA's and one should consume them either in the foods they eat or supplement form to help the body strengthen its self and fight off disease.

Acai antioxidants - Powerful health Supplement

Quadrillions of reactive oxygen species bombard our bodies each day to produce harmful effects in the body including aging and cell death. Extensive research found that the reactive species can be controlled by antioxidants found in numerous plants and fruits. One of the fruits rich in antioxidants is the acai berry, a berry found in the bushes of Brazil. This berry was found to have antioxidant contents twice to that of blueberries. Because a cup of blueberries contains as much as 13,000 antioxidants, then doing some calculations would show the antioxidant content of one cup of acai berries to be more than 26,000. So what are acai antioxidants?

The acai berry contains millions of various antioxidants and vitamins that provide humans with a single food source rich in nutrients. These antioxidants are mostly flavonoids, which have been proven to work hard in searching for the reactive oxygen species that destroy cells and tissues and cause aging. Studies have also demonstrated that these flavonoids from the acai berry stop the free radicals that target the cells of the blood vessels to cause flow constriction and high pressure of the blood. These flavonoids also reduce the process of LDL oxidation to help maintain a healthy heart. Omega 6 and omega 9 found in acai berries also help in maintaining a good cholesterol ratio.

Acai antioxidants also include anthocyanins, which are the berry’s coloring material and act as a potent antioxidant at the same time. These anthocyanins, along with other antioxidants, search the cells for potentially harmful reactive oxygen species that cause skin and eye problems, dental health disorders, and urinary tract infections.

A lot of studies confirmed these acai antioxidants to be working in teams that help re-energize one another to work more effectively. Cell imbalance and death are the mains causes of aging. The antioxidants in acai work hard to promote good platelets that would help in wound repair and act to reduce inflammation. Because cell death is minimized, the process of aging is also effectively slowed down. Another good antioxidant is reservatrol, which also helps prevent cell aging.

Vitamin C, a naturally good antioxidant, acts on collagen cells to allow healthy hairs and cartilage to develop. Some of the acai antioxidants also help in boosting the body’s sustained energy and help stop fatigue. This is because the biochemical niacin helps produce adenosine triphosphate, which is the natural fuel that the cells need to go about with regeneration. The body’s other vitamin cycles can largely benefit from niacin, which also helps in producing coenzymes needed for energy production in the cells. Certain vitamin B antioxidants also hasten the conversion of carbohydrates to simple sugars that are necessary for the body’s energy storage.

More important benefits of these acai antioxidants have extended to the body’s neurological system. The reactive oxygen species that create problems in the nerve cells are mapped out to allow normal functioning of the neuronal transmission processes. Even bones have benefited from these antioxidants as these get markedly improved bone mineral density.

Truly, the acai berry works wonders in helping the body stay healthy.

Elderberry Can Boost The Immune System In The Winter

The immune system is frequently overworked when the days get shorter and the temperature starts to drop, and elderberry can boost the immune system in winter for those that find themselves susceptible to all the colds, flu and other viral infections that seem to come out of the woodwork at that time.

Elderberry is the fruit of the elder tree that is native to Asia, Europe and North America.  They are found just about anywhere due to their tolerance for a wide range of climates and soil types, and are frequently found by river banks. There are a number of different types of elder, in both small tree and shrub form, and it is those with the black and blue berries that are useful medicinally, not those with red berries.  It is not only the berries that are used, but also the elder flowers. Elderflower wine has long been a favorite country wine, and the berries are used to make jam, pies and also drunk as juice.

Elder has been used for countless years for treating viral diseases such as influenza and colds, and it has also been found by some to be effective for the treatment of cold sores (herpes simplex).  Its effect on flu is thought to be that it prevents the virus from entering and infecting the body cells, but more on this later.   Historically, it has been used to promote the excretion of waste products through urination and sweating, which might be another reason why it is effective against colds and flu and some general respiratory problems.

The juice contains anthocyanins in the form of anthocyanidin-3-glycosides that appear to be very bioavailable to the body.  The anthocyanins are more easily absorbed than those of blackcurrant juice, and are very strong antioxidants. The antioxidant effect is reinforced by the presence of large quantities of vitamin C. This difference in bioavailability has been proved though the administration of both blackcurrant and elderberry juice to volunteers, and testing the presence of the anthocyanins in the urine. This is a measure of their bioavailability, or how easily they are absorbed by the body, and the greater this bioavailability, then the more effective is their antioxidant effect.

Separate studies have indicated that anthocyanins derived from berries in general, not just elderberry, can reduce oxidative stress due to age, and also to help brain function.  An improvement in the memory of the elderly has been seen to have improved after a course of berry juices rich in these powerful antioxidants. Elderberry antioxidants also improve the stability of LDL cholesterol by protecting against free radical oxidation, and thus helping to reduce the incidence of atherosclerosis that is promoted by the deposition of the oxidized LDL cholesterol on artery walls. This in turn helps to reduce the possibility of cardiovascular disease.

However, it is its effect on the immune system for which elderberry is generally studied by the medical professions.  Elderberry helps to boost the immune system predominantly through the production of cytokines.  To explain how these work, a quick summary of how part of the immune system works will first be necessary.

When intrusion into the body by an antigen (foreign body) is detected, the initial response is the inflammatory response.  Chemical messengers called cytokines are released into the blood to inform the other parts of the immune system that an invader has been spotted.

The immediate effect is to increase the flow of blood to the affected part of the body by dilation of the blood vessels. The spaces between the cells in the vessel walls increase to allow the larger components of the immune system, such as the phagocytes that consume and destroy bacteria. Proteins also congregate and the temperature at the site rises to promote the reactions that the body uses to eject the invaders.  The tissue therefore swells due to all the extra fluid and gets hot. The area becomes painful due to the accumulation of material aggravating the nerves, and if there is an infection, pus will eventually be formed from the dead neutrophils used to kill the bacteria or virus.

There are many different types of cytokine, including those that initiate the inflammatory response and others that stop the immune response once the invader has been killed off. Other cytokines, such as the interferons, stop viruses from multiplying, and others take part in the response only to specific types of antigen.  Each cytokine has a specific message to pass to the relevant components of the immune system in order that the immune response is appropriate to the invasion concerned and does not overreact.  Hence, a grain of pollen in the nose will elicit a lesser response than a varicella antigen that leads to those horrible chickenpox pustules.

In general terms, cytokines give the immune system a kick start once an antigen is spotted. The elderberry anthocyanins produce predominantly inflammatory cytokines, but also one anti-inflammatory cytokine, and so helping to boost the inflammatory response.

Some viruses use what are known as spike proteins that mimic the molecules of their host in order to gain access to cells by binding to the target cell receptors. However, these spikes are easily recognized by the immune system, and the elderberry anthocyanins are active in promoting this recognition. For that reason, viruses vigorously continue to change and mutate to overcome this, one manifestation of their success in achieving this being in the annual infections of influenza that have overcome last year’s antibodies by means of this mutation.

The influenza virus contains what are known as hemagglutinin spikes on its surface which, when deactivated, cannot break through your cell walls, enter the cell and replicate, thus leading to influenza.  That is the mechanism by which the constituents of elderberries help to control influenza and reduce its effect on your body. If not deactivated, the spikes allow the virus to invade the cell and provoke the immune response that you know as the flu.

Many such winter ailments have a similar mechanism, which is why, apart from its general health benefits through its high antioxidant content, that elderberry extract teas can boost the immune system in winter.

Boost Wellness With EFA's And Live Disease Free

A lot of people tend to shy away from anything that has the word fatty involved with it, thinking that it will cause them to gain unnecessary weight.  What a lot of people don’t know is that there are good fats and bad fats.  The beneficial ones actually can help decrease the desire for food and for harmful fats.  Fats are essential to health, as they help to balance the body’s chemistry and provide padding for the vital organs in the body.  Fats give a source of energy for body processes and also help with the transportation and absorption of vitamins A, D, E, and K, which are all fat soluble.

There are three main categories of fats: saturated fats, unsaturated fats, and essential fats.  Saturated fats are made of carbon, hydrogen, and oxygen molecules.  The carbon atoms from fatty acids hold together in a chain-like fashion and they can attach a hydrogen atom to them.  When each potential place for a hydrogen atom has been filled and there is no more room for any more hydrogen atoms, these fats are considered saturated.  The fat will be harder or thicker in consistancy the longer the chain.

These types of fatty acids are found in red meat, butter, cheese, sour cream, palm kernel, and coconut oils.  When someone has a diet that is high in saturated fats, these fats clump together in the body and form deposits that lodge in cells, organs, and blood vessels and can lead to many health problems like obesity, heart disease, and breast and colon cancer.

Unsaturated fats are called this because at least two adjacent carbon atoms on a chain are not attached to hydrogen atoms.  When at least two pairs of carbon atoms are empty, it is known as a polyunsaturated fatty acid.  The more saturated the fat, the more easily it will stay hard at room temperature.

Essential fatty acids are crucial nutritional compounds that our bodies need in order to perform many functions.  They can be found in the seeds of plants and in the oils of cold-water fish.  Fatty acids can not be made in the body, so they must be found in a supplement or in the diet.  Many factors, which include stress, allergies, disease, and diet high in fried foods, can increase the body’s need for essential fatty acids.

Fatty acids are the basic building blocks of all fats.  A fatty acid is considered essential if the body is unable to synthesize it and the only way it can be obtained is through diet.  Additionally, it is considered essential if a deficiency will cause disease.  A deficiency of fatty acids can cause poor reproduction, lowered immunity, rough and dry skin, and slow growth.

Essential fatty acids are vital for many functions including: lowering triglyceride levels; helping to eradicate plaque from the walls of arteries; lowering blood pressure; altering the production of leukotrienes; constructing body membranes; helping strengthen cell and capillary structures; prolonging blood-clotting time, which helps wounds to heal; helping the body manufacture hemoglobin; assisting in the manufacture of cholesterol; preventing the growth of bacteria and viruses assisting in the functions of glands and hormones.

Essential fats nourish the skin, hair, and nails; increasing the rate at which the body burns fat; helping the body maintain proper temperature; assisting in the body’s production of electrical currents that are vital for a regular heartbeat; and acting as a precursor to the production of prostaglandins.  It is essential that everybody obtain good fat in their diet to maintain health, if one can not eat the proper foods, supplement forms of essential fatty acids are available.

How Aloe Vera Can Help With Embarrasing Illnesses

Here are three natural cures that you can use to help in eliminating your hemorrhoids...that most embarrasing and painful of problems. Despair no longer because a little green plant may hold the answer for you...

Aloe Vera gel is an astringent that helps to heal open sores. It is helpful in hemorrhoids by applying the gel straight away onto your anus. The best sort of gel for this is from the aloe plant.

If you don't have one, then a 100% organic full leaf aloe gel is second best. You can get this organic aloe at a health food or nourishment store. If you appear to have a fresh plant, wash a leaf completely with distilled water. Peel it on one side, bend it with the peeled side outward, and slip it into your anus. Just trim down the leaf so it slides into your anus simply.Of course you may not want to go through with this, in which case read my aloeride review for info on how to get an easy to swallow capsule which will have the same effect.

Aloe Vera juice, that you drink, is also good for hemorrhoids. It helps to melt your stools and to turn on peristaltic action. If you like aloe juice, then drink around a half cup of Aloe Vera juice three time a day. You're able to add 0.25 or 3rd part aloe juice to a cup of apple juice to make the taste better. To make this aloe-apple juice tastier, add 10 drops of bilberry extract. Buy the 25% standardized formula and take a hundred mg three times every day of bilberry. Now you can use either of the three herbal cures for hemorrhoid relief. If one is not working to good, try the other. When you have got the hemorrhoid relief that you want stop using the herbal cure...and relax!

Benefits of Coral Calcium

Coral calcium benefits the body in many different ways.  Coral calcium is a mineral supplement that is harvested in a couple of very different ways which makes a big difference in its effectiveness.

There are two basic forms: “Marine” coral and “Land” or fossilized coral calcium.  Although Bob Barefoot believes that all coral is good, there is a difference, good coral and the Best Coral.

True Marine Coral Calcium (the best) is harvested with ecological safety and conservation from under the pristine waters around the islands of Okinawa Japan.  This highly beneficial supplement is called SMP 44 or Sango Mineral Powder 44 and is considered to be a unique marine miracle for health and in the opinion of Bob Barefoot, the best calcium supplement available.

The mineral nutrients contained in coral calcium combine to support all body chemistry.  The benefit of mineral supplementation has been well supported in scientific literature and the benefit of coral calcium has 600 years of history with millions of people word wide.

The main mineral component of coral calcium is calcium but contains several other essential mineral nutrients including substantial amounts of magnesium, zinc, strontium, boron and many more.

Coral calcium health benefits include:

Supplies essential Calcium which is the most abundant mineral in the human body that:

Signals biochemical processes in the cells.

Controls muscle contractions.

Initiates DNA synthesis.

Helps to build stong bones.

Critical control of the pH (acidity or alkalinity) of the body fluids.

Acidity results in the expulsion of oxygen from the body which can lead to numerous diseases, such as cancer, according to two time Nobel Prize winner Dr. Otto Warburg.

The level of calcium intake in the Western diet is much lower in many people than is required for optimal health.  Supplementation with additional calcium and minerals has many health benefits that could support your healthy body for years to come.

Nutrition Notes on Weight Loss Supplements

More and more spend hundred and even thousands of dollars yearly on weight loss supplements in the hope of speeding up their metabolism. The main desire is to be attractive and accepted but it is becoming a more difficult goal to achieve. The fitness industry is booming but still a lot of people are unable to cut those fat in spite of all the exercise and diet efforts. In America, more than sixty per cent of adults are overweight and thirty per cent are considered obese. This is because: one, a lot of weight loss products promises unrealistic goals; two, dietary supplement manufacturers rely on the overweight person’s failure to survive; and three, the information about the supplements in the market are just written by themselves just to make a sell.  Uncover the Rapid Weight Loss Program.

Although the Food and Drug Administration has successfully banned illegal marketers, some products are still available. Consumers can be deceived of the labels which claims caffeine or ephedra fee not knowing that these supplements composes of other ingredients that may pose the same health risks. These include heart and digestive problems, headaches, insomnia, and even psychological side effects.

Other supplement manufacturers say that their products contains EGCG which is a phytochemical ingredient found in green tea. This so-called component claims to speed up metabolism but in reality poses to reduce the risk of cancer. Some studies denote that it could slightly increase the potential to burn calories and now can be found in many weight loss supplements. It has good points on the other hand since the body might conform to EGCG after a period of time. Eve the weight loss benefit could sum up to 60 to 70 calories a day. Uncover the Rapid Weight Loss Program.  This helps prevent excessive weight gain.

A few other significant effects of weight loss supplements is that it may contain ingredients that makers claim will prevent the absorption of carbohydrates. One good example is Chitosan, which appears most promising, which in fact shows no positive result in fat absorption. It could even take up to seven months for men to lose just a pound of body fat and for women, there is no fat loss at all. Thyroid supplements act as thyroid replacements help regulate and optimize the thyroid at a higher level. This they say makes the body feel like a couch potato and won’t perform the job it has to.

Since the number one reason why people eat is because they feel hungry, there is another type of ingredient that manufacturers made which increases the feeling of being full and decreases appetite, Guar Gum. However, recent studies show that it has no meaningful benefit at all to weight loss. It is ironic that manufacturers mix Psyllium that has the reputation of reducing eating and aiding weight loss for initial studies so far do not support this claim although it helps control blood cholesterol and sugar.

One of the latest innovations in the fat loss industry is by way of skin absorption. There’s a Cutting Gel, which is an epidril product by far the best selling in fat loss creams technology. Rub it where you want the fats cut. For now, it will seem safer to advise the age old remedies to excessive weight gain and that is to invest on walking shoes instead of diet supplements, go to the park and do brisk walking, go to the gym, and have a well balanced diet instead.

"Losing Weight? - Go Herbal"

These days, there is a great need for overweight Americans to lose those excess pounds. Being healthy would not only lead them to have a healthier lifestyle but it will also literally lighten their load, and improve their overall well-being.

There is a long list of dieting options available. There are exercise programs, exercise machines, dietary supplements, dietary food and drinks, diet pills - there are even soaps which claim to help you lose pounds while you bathe.  Uncover the Easy Weight Loss Program.

One other available option to shed off those unwanted pounds is to go herbal.

Herbal weight loss products have been in great demand for people who want to lose weight the natural way. However, when you take herbal supplements to lose weight, you would have to wait for a longer time for the results because of the more subtle effects of medicines which came from plants and natural herbs.

Here are some herbal weight loss options that you might want to consider:

1. Herbal weight loss products

There are a lot of herbal weight loss products available in the market now. You can check out the Internet and you will find a lot of herbal weight loss pills and products.

Be careful, however, as there are some products which claim to be safe and natural because they are herbal, but some actually have side effects because of non-extensive research on the effects of these products.

Here are some ingredients and chemicals which make up some herbal weight loss products that you should watch out for, as they might have harmful effects to your health:

> Senna. This is an herbal laxative. Senna is a main ingredient in weight loss teas, and it works by stimulation the colon. The downside effect of this herb is dehydration. It can also lead to colon problems and can become addictive. Some people, when addicted, are unable to perform bowel movements without it, so watch out.

> Chromium picolinate. This is a synthetic compound found in herbal weight loss products. Chromium is a nutrient which helps regulate blood-sugar level. However, this ingredient, when taken in high doses, may cause damage in the chromosomes. It can also lead to dehydration.

> St. John's wort. This supplement increases the production of a chemical in the brain. If not used properly, it may cause eye and skin sensitivity, mild gastrointestinal distress, fatigue and itching.

Although a lot of herbal products claim to be safe and natural, it is better to scrutinize the ingredients and research about the effects of the product itself before going for these herbal dietary pills.

2. Organic food.

In Wichita, Kansas, organic food has found its way to more homes and restaurants. Organic food devotees believe that consuming organic goodies help their bodies as well as the environment.

A person who buys organically raised eggs and vegetables claim to be healthier, and they are not spending money on doctors and prescriptions as these keep them healthier and away from the hospital. This could also be an option for weight watchers, as organic food is known to be kinder to your weight than chemically-processed food products.

3. Green Tea.

Studies show that intake of green tea, or green tea extracts burns extra calories. Also, green tea with caffeine can increase fat burning by up to 40% thereby reducing fat.

This is one good option for those who want to lose weight. In a study done, people who took green tea were found to lose 2 to 3 times more weight than those who did not drink green tea.

These results show that green tea is a natural product for the treatment of obesity. Thus, it also makes for a healthier dietary option, not to mention the good effects that it has on the body as compared to caffeine. A cup of tea gives an emmediate energy lift without the side effects of caffeine. Uncover the Easy Weight Loss Program.

3. Caffeine.

Coffee provides an energy boost to increase fat burning. Caffeine also provides a likelihood to be active, which in turn increases your rate of calorie burn.

4. Immortality Herb

This herb, whose scientific name is Gymnostemna Pentaphyllum, is known to have the following benefits:

> increases healthy blood flow

> reduces artery blocks

> aids healthy blood pressure

> increases the rate of fat burning

5. Apple Cider Vinegar

There are pills and food supplements whose main ingredient is apple cider vinegar. Here are the benefits of taking this herbal option:

> weight loss

> improved cholesterol level

> improved high blood pressure

> helps prevent rheumatoid arthritis

Consuming Saturated Fats Can Reduce Essential Fatty Acid Absorption In The Body

A deficiency in essential fatty acids can be linked to many ailments.  When the body lacks linoleic acid in the diet, adverse symptoms result.  Such symptoms include: acne, changes in personality or behavior, gallbladder dysfunction, slow healing wounds, cardiovascular problems, prostate inflammation, thirst due to excessive perspiration, arthritis, miscarriage, poor growth, kidney problems, muscle tremors, skin disorders, and sterility in males.  Low contents or a lack of linolenic acid in the diet can also cause many adverse symptoms.  These symptoms include poor growth, learning disability, tingling in the extremities, impaired motor coordination, and poor vision.

When adequate amounts of dietary fatty acids are obtained in the deficient person, adverse symptoms will disappear.  Unfortunately, long-term deficiencies of essential fatty acids can eventually lead to death.  Because the human body requires forty-five known essential nutrients and requires linoleic acid more than any other, researchers estimate that the body needs at least three to six grams a day of linoleic acid in order to prevent deficiency symptoms.  This is equivalent to one to two percent of your daily caloric intake.

However, a much larger amount can be helpful to encourage and preserve optimum health.  Although the requirements are different for each person, factors such as stress, diet, and amount of physical activity that is engaged in daily must be taken into account.  For example, an obese person who eats a lot of saturated fats will need a lot more EFA's than a thin person who is cautious about the amount of saturated fats that are included in their diet.  Saturated fats interfere with the absorption and metabolism of linoleic acid.

A well-balanced diet will include primary nutrients such as vitamins B3, B6, C, zinc, and vitamin A.  This will help the body to utilize essential fatty acids much more efficiently.  It should be mentioned that the ability of lipids to hold high levels of oxygen has negative effects for those who are obese.  By having increased oxygen in fat reserves, one can experience lipid oxidation, which leads to free radical formation, which in turn increases many tissue pathologies.  In order to avoid this process, a diet or supplementation that is rich in antioxidant nutrients such as vitamins A, C, and E is encouraged.  Many factors can get in the way of fatty acid metabolism.  These include a diet that is high in saturated fats and cholesterol, aging, alcohol, high blood sugar, viral infections, and aspirin use.

It is recommended that people stay away from fats that have been altered from their normal, health-giving state to the point in which they actually cause damage to the cells of the body.  In an ideal state, a person who is health conscious will avoid any foods that are deep-fried, as they are especially dangerous to the human body.  However, because we are all humans, it is almost impossible to eat a perfect diet in this day and age.

Therefore, taking an essential fatty acid supplement is a great idea that is recommended by many health experts to offset the damage that is often done to your body by consuming the unwanted, yet inevitable, bad fats.  Essential fatty acids can regulate hormone production in the body and stabilize ones emotional state if it is due to a hormone imbalance.   Have you had your essential fatty acids today?

Body Building: Understanding Muscle Supplement?

If you walk through any health or nutrition store you will notice that there is a enormous number of body building muscle supplement products on store shelves. The sheer volume of products is overwhelming and their popularity is quite strong. While many people are familiar with the fact that these products exist, they may not be aware of how these body building muscle supplement products work. Unfortunately, because these products are in such fierce competition with one another they have a tendency to employ a ton of over the top advertisement campaigns so as to stand out in the marketplace. Unfortunately, a number of these ad campaigns leave the false impression that there is a miracle out there that will maximize ones ability to grow muscle.

The Truth About  Muscle Supplement

First, what must clearly be understood about these supplements is that no body building muscle supplement is a miracle product. There is no product that will magically burn fat and enhance muscle growth while eliminating that pesky need for working out. Sure, there are a number of products with wild over the top ad campaigns that make these grandiose promises, but these products are less than honest and even less successful in terms of actually delivering what they promise.

The products out there that fall into the body building muscle supplement category are essentially one of two things known as mass gainers and whey protein supplements. A mass gainer is a drink that provides a massive amount of calories in liquid shake form so as to help someone who is having difficulty gaining weight the ability to gain weight without packing on fat. What whey protein does is that it provides the body with quality protein so as to aid in the repair and growth of muscle after a solid exercise program. While this description of these products may make them sound mundane, it is also an accurate assessment. Again, there is no body building muscle supplement that can provide any miracles so avoid looking for them. Instead, keep your feet grounded to the earth and look for those products that provide an honest and sensible result.

These products are not necessarily expensive and are generally quite effective. Of course, some brands are a little better than others and then there will also be issues of personal taste involved in the selection that you make. But ultimately if you stick with legitimate products you will achieve the results that you desire.

Get up off that couch and join the fitness revolution. Make exercise and a healthy diet part of your daily  routine, you will be surprised at the difference it will have on your life.

Amino Acids: Get Pumped

How do some of those athletes and body builders look so sculpted with defined musculature? Well, there are a lot of factors at play to create a well-toned body and amino acid body building is one practice that seriously pumped up athletes rely on. Amino acids are often called the building blocks of the human body in layman’s terms but they are really the molecular building blocks that create protein.

Protein is one of the most essential components that create strong healthy muscles which is the reason why many athletes in strength training will indulge in amino acid body building, usually in the form of supplements and pushing weights.  Protein also fuels the health of your hair, nails, ligaments, tendons, central nervous system and even how your muscles retain water for maximum elasticity and strength.

Reasons for Taking Supplements

Many body builders have discovered that without enough amino acids in their system, the body tends to feed on its own muscles when faced with the crisis of not enough energy. This has led to the interest of amino acid body building to ensure that the body has plenty of fuel to build muscle rather than cannibalizing on it.

Serious body builders will take amino acid supplements either in a protein shake or pill form immediately after hard muscle exercises. This moment in time represents a unique opportunity to introduce amino acid into the body while the muscles still have optimal blood flow and is most amenable to nutrients. This timing takes a knowledgeable athlete to understand why amino acid body building can be very important.

Supplements: The Popular Ones

Glutamine is one of the most popular in amino acid body building because it is plentiful in the muscles and is known for promoting muscle growth. Arginine is another amino acid that is beneficial to your amino acid body building practices. This particular amino acid kicks off the growth hormone in your body and helps regulate the metabolism of the muscles, building bulk. Fat decreases while your connective tissue, cartilage and bone strengthens under amino acid body building practices.

Supplements are important as these days people are slacking on their diets and not getting enough proteins, which means not enough amino acids. Without these helpful body building blocks, you would eventually become weaker and lose muscle tone. Therefore, stick with amino acid body building and you will discover that your muscles will not only get the workout they need but that they are also growing larger, creating the telltale body builder sign of a sculpted muscles.

Get up off that couch and join the fitness revolution. Make exercise and a healthy diet part of your daily  routine, you will be surprised at the difference it will have on your life.

Bost Energy Levels With Panax, American, Siberian, and Chinese Ginseng

Panax is a type of perennial plant with fleshy roots, and grows in Eastern Asia. Ginsengs contain ginsenosides that are triterpene saponins, steroidal compounds that are found only in Panax ginseng. The effects of these saponins are difficult to establish, but they are believed to be behind the properties of ginseng.

Panax ginseng is found predominantly in Korea, China and Siberia, although a genus has also been found in Vietnam.  Panax are adaptogenic herbs that help promote resistance to anxiety, fatigue and stress, and are said to adapt the body to resist a number of different stressors. It has been proposed that adaptogenic herbs can balance the endocrine hormones of the hypothalamus, pituitary and adrenal axis.

They also normalize the immune system, and increase the activity of phagocytes, the killer cells. Additionally, they not only help to maintain homeostasis, but are believed to go further and act as allostatic agents, adapting response to maintain system stability in a more dynamic fashion, by changing interactive functions as opposed to the individual adaption’s made in homeostasis.

Not all ginsengs are the same, and although Siberian ginseng is an adaptogen, it is not a true ginseng. Its roots are woody rather than fleshy, and it contains eleutherosides as opposed to ginsenosides. These also are triterpenoid saponins, but of a different adaptogen.   The herb is actually Eleutherococcus senticosus as opposed to Panax ginseng and P. quinquefolius, both true ginsengs. Siberian ginseng was misnamed as a marketing ploy.

American ginseng is Panax quinquefolius, sometimes referred to by the Chinese as Huaqishen.  It, too, is an adaptogen and a true ginseng, containing ginsenosides. However, it contains much less ginsenonide Rg1 than panax. This ginsenonide appears to possess estrogen-like activity and improves spatial learning. The other forms of ginesonide found in panax ginseng are:

Ginsenoside Rb1:  This appears in greatest concentration in American ginseng, and appears to have an effect on the reproductive system.  It not only has an effect on the testicles, but is believed to increase testosterone production through its stimulating effect on luteinizing hormone.  It also helps to rdeduce the incidence of angiogenesis, which is the formation of new blood vessels from old, and also a stage in the development of malignant tumors from dormant ones.

Ginsenoside Rc:  this possesses sedative properties, and in a study on breast cancer was found to have an effect in inhibiting the growth of these particular cancer cells. Ginsenoside Rc might therefore have use in the treatment or prevention of breast cancer. Studies have also suggested that this ginsenoside could increase the motility of sperm:  the motiliy of sperm was found to increase significantly in a solution of ginsenoside Rc.

Ginsenoside Rf:  this is present only in panax ginseng, and studies have indicate that it has an inhibitory effect on the Ca2+ neural channels in the brain, and so cokld have an analgesic effect. Studies have as yet failed to explain this effect that is seen in animal tests, but are continuing on this ginsenoside.

Ginsenoside Re:  this ginsenoside has strong antioxidant effects and has a significant antidiabetic effect in that is reduces insulin resistance, which is likely why ginseng is taken to treat Type 2 diabetes.  Studies are ongoing into the properties of this ginsenoside, and also on the other 10 or more that are known to be present in Panax ginseng.  The effects of ginseng are difficult to establish with certainity because they work through so many different pathways and it is difficult to isolate one. More than one ginsenoside, for example, affects the calcium channels in the brain, and it is difficult to determine which does what.

There are fewer ginsenosides in Panax quinquefoilius, and in the USA it is only the panax version that can be traded as simply ‘ginseng’.  One of the main problems with all ginsengs is that although it is one of the most studied plants, the majority of the studies have been on animals, and due to this, and the difficulties caused by the multiple pathways described earlier, many of the postulations have not been proved in humans.

However, if the theory as it is know today is taken into consideration along with the traditional uses of ginseng in traditional Indian (ayurvedic), Chinese and Native American medicine, it would be fairly accurate to say that ginseng is useful in helping your body to recover after illness or surgery, and to help you to deal with stress.  It has also been proved to lower your blood glucose (sugar) levels, and help in the treatment of Type II diabetes, as already mentioned.  There is evidence that it helps to boost your mental performance, memory and might help to slow down the onset of Alzheimer’s disease.

Ginseng can also give a boost to your energy levels, and it is genarally accepted that Chinese ginseng is more effective than the American version. In traditional medicine, Asian ginseng is said to be warming, and the American variery cooling. Thus Panax ginseng is useful for people recovering from illness and trying to recover their strength, acts as a tonic, stimulant and supports the immune system. In other words it helps the body to get whole again after being depleted.

It should not be used if you get very hot and red, such as with heat stroke, unless you use it in combination with the American version, because these are conditions of high yang and this type of ginseng will increase the yang even further.

American ginseng, on the other hand, is good for those with fevers, hypertension (high blood pressure), and suffereing the effcts of heat. It helps build the yin and reduce the yang, so if you always feel flushed and hot or are hyperactive then go for the American, and if you easily get chilled or find your hands and feet get cold very easily, reach for the Asian ginseng to increase your yang.

You often find ginseng as an ingredient in soft drinks, but the concentration is so low that it has no metabolic or pharmacological effect.  The dose to be taken should be as stated on the pack, since there is no specific standardization.  It has been noted that the effects can be lost if an excess of ginseng is taken, but generally the herb is safe and if you feel a bit down or lacking in energy, ginseng can work wonders for you.

Energy Supplements For Low Energy - A Little Pick-Up Can Make A Big Difference

Energy supplements for low energy could be your answer to fatigue.

Are you one of the many people who drag through the day and never seem to have any extra energy? Do all the responsibilities and chores you face throughout the day wear you out so all you can really do at night is vegetate in front of the television and plop into bed? Do not feel alone; there are lots of folks in just that situation, and if you find yourself tired all the time, you may consider the benefits of taking supplements for low energy. Perhaps you feel you have "good reason" to be tired; I know that is how I felt back when my children were little.

I was married, raising a family, taking care of a husband and house, working full-time, and taking college classes after work. To top it al off, I lived about forty-five minutes from work, so I had a long commute every day, as well. Boy, was I ever tired, and quite frankly, I really never thought much about it. Of course I was tired, right?

Well, yes and no. I did have a lot on my plate, but really, everyone does. And even if your life is piled up with chores and responsibilities every day like mine was, it does not necessarily mean that you have to walk around in an exhausted daze all the time. It makes good sense to eat nutritiously, of course, and also to get plenty of sleep, but even during those times that even sleep and a real meal seem like luxuries, you may find just the right amount of the boost you need with energy supplements that can help you feel better and enjoy life more.

There are high quality supplements for low energy available at nutrition centers and online, and after talking to your doctor or other health care professional, you may just find that the natural ingredients like bee pollen and amino acids that are often found in top-notch energy supplements are just the ticket for your ride to extra energy. It seems like good old common horse sense to get the most energy possible, and to do so in a way that avoids coffee and other caffeine products, or, even worse, the sugar highs and lows that result from inhaling a chocolate bar in the middle of the afternoon.

If your lifestyle is demanding - as if there were any whose aren't - you may be well served to look into the benefits of energy supplements. More energy equals more time to do things you enjoy (instead of just working and passing out every day); more energy equals better moods; more energy equals more opportunity to be everything you can be. I know that the bee pollen and ginseng supplements for low energy that I discovered, along with my doctor's help, really made all the difference in my life. Perhaps you can lift the fog out of your day with superior quality energy supplements, as well.
